A Survey and Tutorial of EEG-Based Brain Monitoring for Driver State Analysis

The driver's cognitive and physiological states affect his/her ability to control the vehicle. Thus, these driver are essential safety of automobiles. design advanced assistance systems (ADAS) or autonomous vehicles will depend on their interact effectively with driver. A deeper understanding state is, therefore, paramount. Electroencephalography (EEG) is proven be one most effective methods for monitoring human error detection. This paper discusses EEG-based detection corresponding analysis algorithms over last three decades. First, commonly used EEG system setup studies introduced. Then, signal preprocessing, feature extraction, classification reviewed. Finally, research reviewed in-depth, its future development discussed. It concluded that current promising applications. However, many improvements still required in artifact reduction, real-time processing, between-subject accuracy.
